Field Trips:DEW Animal Kingdom
This past October we visited DEW Animal Kingdom on a Friday afternoon. Lions and tigers and bears were just a few of the many different exotic, domestic, and wild animal species we saw on our visit.
Higgins Armory Museum
Last year we visited Higgins Armory Museum in Worcester, MA. We saw many different pieces of armor from medieval to samurai times. There were also many different weapons and action displays of jousting and sparring. It is "the only museum in the western hemisphere entirely devoted to the study and display of arms and armor."Higgins.org/about
Upcoming Field Trips:
Boston: Various Places Along the Freedom Trail
This March we will be taking a field trip to Boston, to visit various historical sites along the Freedom Trail.
What are we learning in class?
Math: We just finished working with the complications and equations of geometric solids.
Social Studies: We are studying the industrial revolution and finshing projects on famous inventions.
English: Research papers are due this month and we will begin work on persuasive essays.
Reading: This past month we finished Gary Paulsen's Hatchet and started on either Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry, which all of 7th and some 8th graders are working on or To Kill a Mockingbird.
