On March 11, the Student Association hosted a formal banquet at Dimillo's Floating Restaurant in Portland, Maine. Students and faculty not only enjoyed the lovely views of the harbor and nearby islands, which made a perfect backdrop for pictures, but also the generous buffet. Conversation flowed with the help of table games such as Uno, Yahtzee, and a trivia quiz. The fun continued with games of "Would You Rather" and "How Well Do You Know Your Friend". A big thank you to the S.A. for their efforts in ensuring a memorable evening.
On February 27th The Coastal Winds Community Band and Pine Tree Academy Band put on a joint concert for The Town of Freeport's Febfest. Febfest is a month long celebration of the arts in the surrounding community. Brendan Krueger is the director of both bands and also the principal of Pine Tree Academy. The music was amazing covered a range of genres including a jazzy number Dixieland, a swing piece String of Pearls, a show tune Don't Cry For Me Argentina, and even an opera Procession of The Nobles. Mr. Krueger made the concert even more entertaining and educational by telling interesting stories and trivia about each piece and the composer. It was well worth coming out to!
The 20th annual Art Clinic was on February 1-3 at Pine Tree Academy. The students who participated created beautiful works of art. The weekend culminated with a visual presentation, written by seniors Simone Edmond and Tashala Hill, on the life of Daniel. The play focused on the fact that "God Delivers" through all of the experiences we may encounter.
On January 27, 2018, the Pine Tree Academy Breakers had two home games. During these games, the senior players from both the Girls Varsity and Boys Varsity were recognized by their coaches. Thank you for a great season!
