Dr. R. Aileen Yingst is a Senior Scientist at the Planetary Science Institute, a research institution headquartered in Tucson, AZ. She is a Participating Scientist on the Mars Exploration Rover Mission and Deputy Principal Investigator for the Mars Handlens Imager instrument on the Mars Science Laboratory rover Curiosity. Other missions that Dr. Yingst has worked on include the Dawn at Vesta, Mars Pathfinder, Mars Polar Lander, and Galileo missions.

The Lady Breakers had an exciting game Tuesday, January 21 against the 2014 Class D champions, Forrest Hills. Gatorade bottles, with these personalized tags, were handed out to all members of the Pine Tree Academy Breakers basketball teams, as well as their opponents, during the month of January.
Annually, the elementary students of Pine Tree Academy perform the church service at the three constituent churches supporting the school. On January 16, 2015, they visited Portland SDA Church. Norman McGuire, former art teacher at Pine Tree Academy, with the help of his daughter, Beckie (Class of 2014), painted this mural in the band room. They completed it just days before moving to the Orlando, Florida area. It serves as a reminder of Christ's desire to commune with each of us. 
On December 13, 2014, Pine Tree Academy presented "A Festival of Christmas." The band, choir, Bell Ringers and elementary choir all performed Christmas selections. In addition, community members and students acted out famous Norman Rockwell paintings. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the holiday season. |
