Today was elementary field day at Pine Tree Academy. Pine Tree students were joined by students from Forestdale Christian School, Florence M. Lombard Christian School, Webb River School, and Cady Memorial School. Some of the activities that the students participated in were pool noodle soccer, ladder golf, obstacle courses, and relays.
Pine Tree Academy Youth SoccerPine Tree Academy has a youth soccer program for children who attend the school from Pre-Kindergarten through Second Grade. We are in need of soccer jerseys for our team. Currently we are using basketball jerseys from the older kids at our school. There are not quite enough for our team, so we end up swapping them among each other during games. We currently have about 16 basketball jerseys for the 21 players participating in our soccer program. There is a teacher who volunteers to be our soccer coach and about six parent volunteers for our program. We play soccer on Wednesdays after school and have games with other private schools. We would appreciate your donation to help us obtain soccer jerseys for our youth team.

On May 4, 2017, one day before Cinco de Mayo, the elementary classrooms participated in a Mexican Fiesta. Giselle Gomez, a teacher from Mexico, has been working with the students on several art projects each Thursday. Projects included pinatas, paper mache hats and animals, and Mexican treats. "I loved having Ms. Giselle work with us on these Mexican crafts," said Paige Tyson, 6th grade student. All in all, it was a wonderful cultural experience for students in the elementary! A BIG thank you to Ms. Giselle for sharing her talents and time with Pine Tree Academy students.
