This year’s 2nd Annual Freeport FebFest of Arts & Culture featured scores of events celebrating the richness of Freeport’s arts community. One memorable evening’s event featured the collaboration of Freeport’s Community Band “Coastal Winds” and the Pine Tree Academy Band, both under the direction of PTA Principal and band teacher, Brendan Krueger. In an evening pops concert which helped “to blow some spring into the winter doldrums,” these two groups combined to present music that spanned nearly 300 years, from Bach to contemporary musicals. This intergenerational group of around 70 musicians was a highlight of the many FebFest events. PTA private music lesson students had their winter recital on Sunday, January 31 at 2:30 pm. Keep on practicing kids!! You sounded great!!! Pine Tree Academy Choir was invited to sing the national anthem for a Portland Sea Dogs game at Hadlock Field. Sack suppers, for the students, were provided, by the Home and School Association. In addition, A. Goodman, a freshman at PTA, threw out the first pitch. Annually, Pine Tree Academy hosts the Northern New England Conference Music Clinic for students from Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and parts of Canada. This opportunity, is a chance for students to meet other individuals with musical talents as they blend those talents in praise and worship to God. One of the first concerts of the tour found the Bel Ringers here: Temppeliaukio Church (Finnish: Temppeliaukion kirkko, Swedish:Tempelplatsens kyrka) is a Lutheran church in the Töölö neighborhood of Helsinki. The church was designed by architects and brothers Timo and Tuomo Suomalainen and opened in 1969. It is also known as the Church of the Rock Photography courtesy of Brad Krueger
