It was a sunny, warm day--perfect for the annual elementary Field Day. Pine Tree and Forestdale students in grades PreK-6 gathered into six teams to start the morning off with some group challenges. They did relays that involved things like running, cup stacking, and carrying water. After lunch, students rotated with their groups through six different stations where they played volleyball and did other activities together. It was a great day! Students form the Academy Public Speaking class read to the elementary students.
After studying about the American Revolution, and the events leading up to it, students from grades 5 & 6 traveled to Boston to experience some of the sights they had learned about. The students enjoyed visiting the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum, the Minute Man Statue, The Old North Church (which included a private tour of the steeple and the crypt below), as well as Paul Revere's House. To cap off their day, they enjoyed a tasty treat from Mike's Bakery in the North End. The elementary teachers have started a new tradition this year. They are recognizing students who are helpful and kind to their classmates and to teachers, faculty and staff. Frosty's Donuts, Dominos Pizza, and Wilburs Chocolate Factory were all sponsors in this endeavor. Here are some photos of some of the Students of the Week for the 2017-2018 school year. |
