On November 11, 2019, Pine Tree Academy celebrated Veterans Day. Johann Edwards spoke to us about his experience serving our country, how it helped him spiritually, and how it impacted his life. A few videos were played specifically about D-Day and it’s history. We were also blessed with Taps played on the trumpet by Mrs. Glover, and songs sung by the younger students of Pine Tree. The program was very moving overall and I was happy to be a part of it. I. Lindsay (Sophomore) On Sabbath October 6, Emily Rojas, PTA Student Body President and Campus Ministries member preached at Freeport SDA Church. She spoke on “Stewardship of Time.” One of the main points was how when she made time to spend with God, she was more productive in other aspects of life. Getting youth involved and speaking in the church can create a whole new perspective of events and views of the Bible and everyday life. Kudos to Emily for doing such a great job! In addition to speaking for church, there was an SA Vespers held on November 1, 2019. Trevor Schlisner, superintendent of the NNEC, was the speaker. C. DePalma (Sophomore) The PTA boys varsity soccer faced off against both Isleboro and North Yarmouth Academy (NYA) this past week in the Quarter and Semi-Final games. A large fan section came out for both games to cheer the boys on. Our PTA boys beat Isleboro 5-2 on Wednesday, a great win, however sadly on Friday in the quarter-final game against NYA, their season came to a close. Though this was a tough loss, I know we are all still so proud of how far the team came this year, the hard work they put in and the respectful, positive attitude they all played with while on the field. Great season boys! L. Stong (Sophomore) |
