The elementary students take part each year in the church services at Portland, Brunswick, and Freeport SDA churches. Attached you will find a short video clip of this year's activities. A special thank you to Abigail Cancel (8th grade pastor) for preparing the sermonette and speaking eloquently at each service. In addition, thank you to the students and parents of each participant. Learning to lead out in worship is a skill that Pine Tree Academy teachers want to foster. This is an invaluable component in the Bible curriculum at Pine Tree Academy.

On Wednesday, March 16, 2016, the Kingsway College Aerials (Gymnastics Team) visited Pine Tree Academy. The theme of their show was "Be Still." Many of the skits focused on God's redemption and how we should put aside distractions in our lives and "Be Still." During several parts in the program, PTA students were allowed to come and demonstrate some of the skills that were being taught and displayed. Mr. Krueger even got in on the action! The elementary students enjoyed a day of snow tubing on Mach 11, 2016. Although the temperatures have been uncharacteristically warm, there was still snow!
Over the summer, students in grades K-6 were given the opportunity to complete review packets. If they completed the school work, they were rewarded by a trip to ice cream with Mr. Krueger.
Students in grades 7 & 8 took an art field trip to Winslow Park today. They were expected to sit quietly and draw the beautiful nature all around them. Never has an afternoon gone so quickly at school!
The Home and School Association had a special welcome for each student who either "Stepped Up" from 8th grade or visited the school for Open House on April 22, 2015.
Students in Pre-K and Kindergarten have been learning about Native Americans and The First Thanksgiving. Their teacher, Lani Gepford, lets them pick Native American names that they use for the whole day. The students also designed "buck-skin" pillow case robes and personalized drums. Pine Tree Academy's Kindergarten-2nd grade enjoyed a trip to Thompson's Apple Orchard. The students pictured here are posing for a photo after having watched a demonstration of the machine that presses apples into cider. |
