I walked into the barn and Emily Rojas, the Student Association President, greeted me at the entrance and just explained everything that I needed to do if I wanted to get a surprise at the end of the Barn Party. She gave each student a paper checklist. I snatched mine and I was off. The first station I went to was a donut eating contest and I have a definite weakness for donuts. So, I ran over there quickly and tried to beat Liam, Benny, and Shimmy. I only lost because I took my sweet time eating that regular glazed donut. Next, I went to the pie eating contest. I’m not a fan of pie but, I just ate it for the culture. Next, I did the sack race against Benny and won, obviously. After that, I got some like chili soup stuff. It was good! I sat down on the couch eating my chili soup and just chilled there for the rest of the night enjoying the company of my friends. J. Stewart (Senior)

On Sunday, October 20th, Pine Tree Academy’s annual Fall Festival was held in the school gym for friends and families alike to have a bit of fall fun. All money goes to the benefit of the students participating in raising funds for their class and to the senior class to help support their class mission trip. Lots of food and activities make up fall fest such as face painting, bake sales, jousting (which is totally safe by the way), corn hole contests, a bouncy house, car washes/detailing, etc. and tons of food. Every year, new memories are made at PTA’s annual fall festival all because of the people who attend. M. Owen (Sophomore) Students in grades 5 and 6 got to use some new tools to learn about math and building. In a math lab with Dr. Moore, students used a Mira to explore symmetry. They loved it! With Mr. Schlisner, students learned about the blessing of work. They identified the parts of a hammer and a drill and practiced using the tools correctly. Who knew a hammer had so many different parts. It was a great learning experience! -M. Moore 5th & 6th Grade Teacher As most of us know, the first day of autumn wasn’t too long ago on September 23rd. As the air gets brisker and the pumpkins start appearing on peoples’ doorsteps, it is undoubtedly starting to feel more and more like fall. Because I personally love autumn for multiple reasons, I asked some of my fellow classmates what their favorite thing about fall was, and I got a variety of answers. Many students said they love the changing colors of the leaves, and others said they love being able to wear sweaters and flannels. Some students said their favorite thing about fall was food like cinnamon sugar donuts, apple cider, and pumpkin spice lattes, while others said their favorite thing was soccer and football season. One student’s answer that spoke to my heart was that autumn means the bugs are dying, and frankly, I couldn’t agree more.

If you asked the Pine Tree Academy soccer teams what their favorite part of soccer was they would probably say the under the lights games. The boy’s and girl’s of PTA’s soccer teams frequently have games at Thomas College under the lights. “It’s a different kind of thrill.” As said by a few of the girls. The first Saturday night game the girl’s team played Temple. The second Saturday night both girls and guys teams played Upper Kennebec Valley High. Isabelle Lindsay - Sophomore The first boys varsity soccer game was a great win for PTA against Seacoast. The game ended with the score being 3-1. The game was home for the Pine Tree Academy boys. The PTA boys who scored were Jahiesh and Josiah. I think that the boys won because, in my opinion, they outran and out hustled the other team. |
