The Student Association introduced a new tradition to PTA this year. Senior Sunrise brought all 12th grade students together for a special song service and dedicatory worship. It is the goal to end the school year in the same fashion with a Senior Sunset. A special thank you to the parents who provided breakfast snacks for the students. PC: N. Sweet
Every year, Allison Wiggin, 3rd and 4th grade teacher, invites students to her home for an ice cream social. Students play games, eat ice cream, and make crafts. Hello! My name is Jessica Asenjo and I am excited to be the new Pre K and Kindergarten teacher at Pine Tree Academy! My family and I recently moved to Maine from Michigan where we have lived for 3 years while my husband, Ramsey was attending seminary. We have a nine year old daughter, Sarai, and a black and white cat named Toby. In 2008 I graduated from Walla Walla University with my bachelors in elementary education and music minor. I am passionate about teaching and have several years of teaching in multi grade classrooms and providing childcare to families. I enjoy music and can play piano, clarinet and guitar. I won’t say no to mint Oreos and love to read every night before falling asleep. I am looking forward to being a part of the PTA family and can’t wait to meet everyone! Some favorites- Verse: Proverbs 31:26 “She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.” Quote: “Keep calm and teach on.“ Place: beach Color: coral and gold Food: Thai food Season: fall Hobbies: crafts, reading, walking Treat: ice cream Ms. Diana Tunnell, our new math teacher, has enjoyed teaching over the last seventeen years. Before moving to Pine Tree Academy with her husband and daughter, Ms. Tunnell taught at Greater Boston Academy. She has administrative and teaching experience at both the high school and elementary levels. Ms. Tunnell loves the variety the Adventist Educational system has offered to enhance her teaching experience beyond her certification focus of secondary math education and has a particular interest in integrating STEM learning activities into her classroom. Ms. Tunnell is looking forward to the opportunity to lead and grow spiritually alongside her students and peers at Pine Tree Academy. When not teaching Ms. Tunnell loves working on crafty projects, cuddling with her fur babies and spending time with her family outside in God’s second book.
