Years ago, the School Board voted that March 28 would be known as Doris Krueger Day. There was a desire to honor and recognize Mrs. Krueger for her wisdom and guidance in starting Music Clinic more than 35 years ago. Mrs. Krueger continues to inspire and instruct students on their musical journey.

Mrs. Krueger taught me how to play the saxophone many years ago. She was so patient and kind - what a blessing!

Doris Krueger has been one of the most influential people of my life! Thank you, Dottie, for teaching me how to play piano correctly, with passion, and for all the other music opportunities as well. Doris Krueger Day is the best idea yet!

Mrs. Krueger opened doors to a whole for me—music more challenging than we could do at my church school, professionalism, and meeting people from other places. Music clinic, camp meeting choir, and her just letting me sit in with my PTA friends once in a while are among my favorite youth memories. Her grace and warmth have been a lifelong inspiration.

There have been (and still are) many incredibly hard-working, dedicated, wonderful teachers to grace us with their leadership and knowledge at PTA. As much as I deeply respect these other teachers, I think the world of Dottie Krueger. She was a terrific mentor for me and I was lucky to be her teacher's aide. Many years later I am still in awe of all that she has done. Globe trotting with laryngitis and a a bevy of well-trained teens as she does with such composure and seemingly never ending energy - how does she do it? As I often tell my kids with a proud smile, 'my' music teacher set the bar very high. She brought the best out of us. This tribute is well deserved. Congratulations Dottie!
