On September 23, 24, and 25 the students in grades 5 through 8 went to Camp Lawroweld for Elementary Outdoor School. They did fun activities such as:
Going canoeing on Lake Webb
Going swimming in Lake Webb
Playing fun games such as glow in the dark manhunt and glow in the dark capture the flag
The also had the wonderful Mr. Schlisner cooking for them while they were on the trip.
When interviewed, Mrs. Tyson said,“Even though I love Outdoor School, for me it was stressful because I was responsible for watching the students down by the water. In addition, the fact that it was windy made it difficult to control the canoes.” The kids learned how to canoe and other skills in that area: performing different paddling strokes, working together in a canoe, gaining stamina in their arms (they had to paddle down the lake and back). They also did free swim and some paddle boarding.
